Dressed simply in white pants and a rather ordinary colored top (but accentuated with a couple of bling-blings and a pair of huge Dior shades), Aling Dionisia, as she is now fondly called by her “fans,” was introduced to the company executives Cory Vidanes, Linggit Tan, Charo Santos-Concio and ABS-CBN President Gabby Lopez, no less.
Lopez urged Aling Dionisia to join their roster of talents. “Dito na ho kayo kasi,” he coaxed.
When Santos-Concio asked Aling Dionisia if she would want to appear in an ABS-CBN show, specifically for an episode in “Maalala Mo Kaya,” Manny’s mom flashed a showbiz smiled and said: “Pag-usapan natin ‘yan.”
Aling Dionisia later received more plaudits upon visiting the set of popular ABS-CBN noontime show, “Wowowee.”
Show host Willie Revillame graciously noted Aling Dionisia’s presence, inviting her to the center stage.
“Gusto ko lang bumati sa mga kaibigan ko…nag-request kasi sila na yakapin daw kita [looking towards Revillame] kaya ayan…[proceeds to hug the host]…ayan…sana masaya na kayo…dahil masaya din ako,” she cooed as the TV audience erupted in cheers.
Aling Dionisia also met comedian Pokwang, one of the show’s female hosts, who is now very popular for her spot-on impersonation of Aling Dionisia.
They hugged, belying rumors that she doesn't enjoy Pokwang’s imitation of her.
A “showdown” of sorts ensued when dance music was played and both Pokwang and Aling Dionisia boogied with wild abandon on the “Wowowee” stage.
Obviously impressed with the reception Aling Dionisia received, Revillame invited her to co-host the show, to which Aling Dionisia could only reply, again, with a showbiz smile.
Another ABS-CBN mainstay who is seemingly awed by Aling Dionisia is Boy Abunda.
Upon seeing how she won over the crowd in “Wowowee,” Boy urged her on air to “sign up” with him as a “talent.”
“Aling Dionisia, you’re an original. Kung kailangan mo ng manager, tawagan mo lang ako,” Boy said.
